I would like to take this opportunity to lay out the basic components of a computer and help you learn how to build a computer from scratch.
PC Components
The most common pc components that you will need to have are the mouse, keyboard, hard drive, floppy drive, ram chips, sound and graphics card, power supply, motherboard and monitor. I’m assuming that you will know what each of these components look like. If you are unsure about some components just search for pictures of them on the internet and you will see what they are.
Connection Process
Firstly you have to work with the mother board and the mother board mounting plate. Firstly, gently screw the motherboard onto the mother board plate with the notches or screws which have been provided with the package or kit. Once this is done you will need to insert the CPU ( Central Processing Unit ) into its slot on the motherboard. Sometimes these CPU Cigar Humidor have levers which you need to gently release to open it up so take note of that. Gently slide the CPU into its socket making sure the pins on the backside slide in correctly otherwise it could get damaged. You can now clip the lever back into place and make sure it is secure.
Now you will have to attach the heatsink to the CPU chip. You might find that the CPU already comes with the heatsink/fan attached to it in which case you can read further. Now you should connect the small cable from the heatsink fan to the Bear Paw Slippers socket on the motherboard to give it power.
The next step is to place the ram chips into their respective slots which are long and thin. Once this has been done you may mount the motherboard mounting plate onto the side of the computer and screw/slip it in so that it is attached correctly.
The power supply is the next component to deal with. The power supply area is usually located at the back of the pc case and is indicated with screw holes which are unoccupied. Just try and maneuver it around to fit with the corresponding holes before you screw it in. The power supply has a main system connector which gets plugged into the power slot on the motherboard, a floppy power connector which gets plugged into the floppy Apartments For Rent In Chicago as well as a few standard peripheral power connectors ( red,yellow and black wires ) which get plugged into your hard drives and cd roms. You will have to mount the hard drives, cd roms and floppy drives and connect them with those connectors making sure that the red wire on each power connector is pointed inwards towards the motherboard. Right, now we move onto the two ports on the motherboard called the primary and secondary IDE Ports. You will notice them as they are rectangular with brackets around them. these ports are used to connect the hard drives and cd roms. The cables that get plugged into these two ports are 40 pin IDE cables with have 3 connections on each cable. Make sure the longest part of the cable is connected to the IDE ports. You need to connect the primary IDE cable from the motherboard to the hard drive(s) and the secondary IDE port is used to connect your DVD Roms to your motherboard. When you plug these IDE cables into the cdroms and hard drives make sure that the red wire strip is side Saffron Liquid side with the red wire strip of the power connectors which are connected to those devices. This will allow you to choose which drives are primary and secondary.
Now that the power supply is connected to the motherboard and the various other components you will need to plug graphics and sound card into their slots.
